Dear Saluki Women's Golf Supporter,

We are hopeful this year's fund raiser will prove to be more successful than ever before! We have gained many friends and supporters over the past years and we continue to grow. Thanks to those of you who supported us in the past, and welcome to those of you who choose to join our family. We are extremely enthusiastic about this year's event!

As in the past 17 years, this event serves as the budget for the SIU women's golf program. The money we raise has allowed us to recruit quality student athletes, to travel, and to win the Missouri Valley conference championship in 2007. We also have a locker room at Hickory Ridge, totally paid for by this scramble. Without this fund raiser, our budget would diminish by 80%. Obviously, your support is extremely important to us. WE NEED YOU!!!!

The scramble attracts over 150 women from across the country. Therefore, your sponsorship not only helps our team, but also gives you exposure to the community and beyond. There are four levels of involvement as listed below. Thank you in advance for your support.

This Year's Activities Schedule
Friday, May 2, 6:30- 8:30 P.M., at Tres Hombres Restaurant, Carbondale, IL.   All Salukis, current and past, will be there.   At 7:00 pm, we will gather all of them on the stage, and I will auction them to the highest bidding team.   When a team wins the bid, they can pick the Saluki they wish to play with on Saturday.   This will continue until all teams have a Saluki.   Throughout the evening, we will raffle some prizes and auction some prizes.   Included in those prizes are a Cleveland putter, a Saluki team bag, a set of Cleveland irons, and a Bud Light refrigerator.   Team t-shirts will also be for sale.   DON’T MISS THE FUN AND EXCITEMENT!!!!!!
Saturday, May 3, 10:00 A.M., at Midland Hills Golf Course, Carbondale, IL:  Shotgun start with food and beverages supplied on the course.   Awards and grand drawing will follow the scramble.   Tickets from Friday night still good.



SIU Salukis place 2nd out of a field of 15 teams in the Illini Spring Classic in April.

The next three pictures come from the Southern Mississippi Invitational held in Baja, Mexico in February 2008. A group of children from a local orphanage came out to watch the teams proctice.

The SIU Lady Salukis placed 3rd in this tournament.

Along the range with all the teams pairing up with a few orphans helping them learn how to swing. The young girls did not speak English and the players did not speak much Spanish and within minutes, all the girls were hitting the ball.
